(GMT)24 MAY 2017 GEMIINH:
Tucked in the Aosta Valley of North-western Italy, the town is guarded on one side by the gigantic Mont Blanc, Western Europe's highest mountain. And once you cross the border by hopping on to a cable-car, you are in Chamonix, an extremely popular tourist destionation, French ski resort.
An old village with a cobbled main street, Courmayeur is an utterly charming place. Walk around Courmayeur and its neighbouring village, La Palud, on narrow, deserted streets lined with quaint pizzerias, boutiques, chalets and stone cottages.....
Courmayeur is easily accessible by motorway from three airports (Turin, Geneva, and Milan Malpensa), and only about 20 minutes away from alternative ski areas: Chamonix in one direction and La Thuile in the other.
