If you’re spending a night in Krabi on the way to Koh Phi Phi and Phuket, check out Tiger Cave Temple (Wat Tuam Suea). Just a short tuk-tuk or motorbike taxi ride from Krabi, Tiger Cave Temple is a beautiful local shrine. If you have the energy, you can climb the 1300+ stairs to the top of the mountain at Tiger Cave Temple for a spectacular panoramic view of the hills and farmland surrounding Krabi.
Tiger Cave Temple is one of the main tourist attractions in Krabi. Legend has it that a tiger used to seek refuge in this cave, the locals would hear the tiger roar as they went to gather food from the forest and so named it Tiger Cave. The tiger has now vacated the cave, and they have built a temple in there instead.
