A recent study ranking the top 10 food halls in the country gave a shout-out to San Francisco’s very own Ferry Building Marketplace, making it the No. 2 best food hall nationwide.
San Francisco beat out two other California food halls that made the list. The Original Farmer’s Market in Los Angeles took the No. 8 spot and Los Angeles’ Grand Central Market landed at No. 4.
The Ferry Building, which opened in 1898, was originally used as a transportation hub for travelers, before falling into disrepair. In 2003 the structure was restored and opened up a marketplace for all visitors to enjoy, and is still even used for ferry landings today.
